The WYLDE podcast: archiving Europe's wild plant knowledge
Welcome to the WYLDE Podcast series, a dedicated audio space for foragers, herbalists, and plant folks across Europe.
According to UNESCO, herbal knowledge and traditional medicine are vital forms of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH), essential for preserving biodiversity and human autonomy . Yet, in modern Europe, we are deeply disconnected from this local reality.
Do you know Austria’s staple wild plant dish? Can you name a trusted herbal remedy from Finland?
Because our collective memory has been eroded by industrial systems, I started WYLDE. In this podcast, I sit down with fellow European herbalists and foragers to talk about plants and our local landscapes.
Our aim is to build a living, cross-border archive of practical plant knowledge. To restore relationship between plants and people. We talk about it all: from navigating complex legal frameworks and local property laws across borders, to reviving forgotten local recipes and tackling the modern challenges of practicing herbal medicine in Europe.
Our voices only matter if you listen, they need your presence to truly come alive. Explore our episodes below:
